I don't believe the rvmrc should be checked in.

Where else would it go? I didn't see anything in the docs about not committing it: https://rvm.beginrescueend.com/workflow/rvmrc/

FWIW, you can disable the project rvmrc when you cd into the project.

I think @ccarter is right: others may want to develop Chronologic using Ruby 1.9.2 or another platform and shouldn't be forced to use any single platform by .rvmrc.

Well, they aren't forced to use it. The first thing almost every developer that works on the project is going to do is delete/modify the .rvmrc and add it to gitignore. IMHO.

I do believe internal projects should have the rvmrc committed to facilitate consistency between dev boxes.
