this took 6 minutes more than expected because i had to pay some attention with attaching a permalink to the vs code screenshot, but it should be here now:

we'll probably have to reorganize the contents later a little bit (and perhaps link to the wiki from the README itself), but this should be more than sufficient for now as far as this PR is concerned.
