In pypa/setuptools#4369 (comment) it was reported that mypy and/or PyCharm don't recognise the .suffix attribute that is implemented in:

https://github.com/jaraco/path/blob/v16.14.0/path/__init__.py#L332-L336

Probably just missing in the type stub.
