The Stellar.org team is made up of folks from all over the world. Team members come from companies including Microsoft, Couch Surfing, Netflix, and Mozilla. From a director of Narrative UX to a Stanford professor of computer science, the Stellar.or team encompasses a diverse assortment of talent, to say the least.

Stellar.org's cofounders are Joyce Kim and Jed McCaleb.

CTO of Stellar.org, Jed McCaleb is building decentralized systems that democratize economic participation. He believes that we should consciously leverage technology to improve the human condition and, as a programmer, spends time thinking about how he can help move the world forward.

Joyce Kim began her career as an attorney at Sherman & Sterling and Wilmer Hale while also working pro bono at Sanctuary for Families and the Innocence Project. She became CEO of Soompi in 2006 and cofounded simplehoney, a mobile commerce startup, in 2011. Before cofounding Stellar, Joyce was a VC at Freestyle Capital. She graduated from Cornell University at the age of 19, followed by graduate school at Harvard and Columbia Law School. Joyce is currently a Director’s Fellow at the MIT Media Lab.
