A 'start' record must be entered (and thus the survey commences) before the user can enter trip and environmental data.

This is problematic as once the survey has officially 'started', all attention should be on observing sightings. Sightings could be missed in the 2-3 mins it takes the user to input the trip and env data at the beginning of the survey.

Is it possible for trip/env forms be completed BEFORE a survey begins so that as soon as the 'start' record is entered, the surveyors have their full attention on looking for sightings? If so, can these trip and env records then be linked to the next 'start' record entered?
