/kind bug
What happened?
In order to effectively change
gidRangeStart
andgidRangeEnd
values defined in StorageClass the EFS controller pod currently requires a restart. This is because the driver maintains one GID cache per fileSystemId. It's initialized when the first volume is provisioned from a StorageClass. All subsequent volumes are provisioned with the GID range specified in the StorageClass that was used first.
The driver should support updating the ranges and generate GID from the range provided in each CreateVolume call, not from the first one.
What you expected to happen?
gidRangeStart
andgidRangeEnd
values should be effectively applied when changed in the StorageClass without the need to delete or restart any controller pods. How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible)?
gidRangeStart
)gidRangeStart
parameter to exiting SC with any custom value other than 50000Anything else we need to know?:
