Hi, I'm Liz 👋
Following my recent graduation from the School of Code 16 week intensive full-stack bootcamp, I am currently looking to secure my first role in tech. In my previous career in PR & marketing, I developed invaluable communication and teamwork skills and found my passion for problem-solving and creative thinking. When I discovered the possibilities the world of tech offers, I knew it was the right path for me. I am now excited to continue my journey, collaborating with others whilst solving problems through tech solutions.
My recent projects
For our final project on the School of Code bootcamp, my team and I developed a simple yet engaging habit tracking mobile-first app that turns goal-setting into a rewarding, fun and collaborative experience. You can watch your virtual plant flourish as you make progress towards your personal goals, share with friends and watch your collective garden grow.
During the School of Code bootcamp, we undertook a midterm 1 week team project. Based on findings from user research, we created an app to help bootcampers get the most out of their mentoring sessions. The app included key tools like a note-taking section, technical questions to ask mentors, and icebreaker ideas for initial meetings.
As part of the Sky Get into Tech course I took part in, my team and I built a restaurant app. We implemented a booking system, online ordering capabilities and a log in system for admin users. We used a versatile tech stack and crafted a strong solution that seamlessly integrated all functionalities. Through our collaborative efforts, we delivered an app ready to meet the demands of modern restaurant management.
In Week 3 of the School of Code bootcamp, our 'Hackathon Friday' challenge was to create basic Weather app fetching data from an open source API. I wanted to revisit this project after completing the bootcamp to continue exploring Typescript, Next.js 14 and open source APIs again. I also wanted to get to grips with Tailwind a bit more. The result is a user-friendly, clean UI with up-to-date weather for the day ahead, plus a 7 day forecast. I used geolocation functionality to allow the user to quickly get weather information on their current location, and a search box allows the user to find their chosen location for weather info.
