Categories still have mouse-over tooltip #24
Comments
That was intentional. It's very easy to switch them to sidebar but I thought I'll leave them there for other contributors to see different ways of presentation and decide before we advertise this to other people |
I personally think we've come to far in what we want to include in the description so that the sidebar is the only way to have enough space. Now that we have a user base, what do @cray0n, @sazabi4, and @ahgpeter think about this? Specifically, do you like the tool tip over the Categories (e.g., "Model", etc.). |
I prefer not to have the side bar pop up immediately since it actually covers part of the graph, so I like the requirement that we actually click. (Was that the question? I might be confused.) @kadrlica |
@cray0n that is useful feedback and something else that we could discuss. Now that we have the "Instructions" link in the header it is probably not necessary to have the sidebar pop up immediately. The question that I was asking is slightly different. If you mouse over (i.e., don't click) on the text for "Models" (here), you'll see a text tooltip pop up on top of it. This is different from all the other nodes where you have to click to get the description. Earlier I was suggesting that the "Models" etc. would appear as nodes similar to those in the rest of the graphic, but a different background color. |
I think it works. The sidebar popup for the flow chart is distracting—I like having the pop-ups, like in the adjacency matrix, better.

Yeah I agree with @ahgpeter! |
Hmm, now I'm confused. The network diagram and the adjacency matrix both have sidebar for clicking on the node labels, and tooltips on mouse hovering the category labels. |
It looks like the categories still show mouse-over tooltips rather than text in the sidebar. Not sure if this was intentional?
