Priorities for WWDC (Outdoors on iOS) #366
Comments
1 and 2 should just be a matter of manually porting the style from https://a.tiles.mapbox.com/v3/mapbox.942wae1o/page.html#11/37.8616/-122.4807 over to gl. |
I think Outdoors will be a win, but it also targets a subset of iOS users -- outdoors and fitness apps. General styling is IMHO more useful. However if Outdoors mode is an easy win, then we can toggle between Streets/Outdoors (and maybe even Satellite if we can resolve simple issues like mapbox/mapbox-gl-native#157 and not worry about retina iPad (mapbox/mapbox-gl-native#114) and that's big. |
If nothing else, showing both streets and outdoors shows the style customizability. By building a demo around outdoors, we get to show off how our new tech comes together with llmr, terrain, and possibly routing. |
I started the outdoors port and @nickidlugash is jumping in to help out. |
