It doesn't work:

<th ts-criteria="value|customFilter:parameter">

it works:

<th ts-criteria="value|customFilter:{{parameter}}">

I can't find any documentation that clearly says how angular filters are supposed to behave with extra parameters. Can you make an example or something that shows this behaviour?
