Beta 2.3 Auto DJ locking up and shutting down app during transition tests #10387
Comments
Commented by: daschuer You might suffer a decoding issue tracked in https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1899242 This fails a debug assertion which is a fatal error in debug builds. We have changed this behavior in: Please retry your test with a recent 2.3 build and report if it still happens. |
Commented by: gfchick I’m a little confused. I read through the associated bug report but it Also, I do not believe I was seeing the issue only with particular files. I did not recompile from source code, I simply downloaded the latest beta If I do decide or need to download the source code and recompile, what I’m a Windows software developer, so not sure if I will have the right dev Please advise.

Commented by: daschuer Just download the latest beta and confirm if the issue is still there. |

I added a playlist to Auto DJ. Then went to Auto DJ to test drive the various options. So basically, I would choose a setting (for example, Fade on Outro) and then enable Auto DJ. Once the song was playing I would manually move it towards the end of the song so I could take a listen to the transition to the next song. This is the same process I use to manually test and refine the recordings on the stable version. I've never had any issue with this type of testing on the stable version.
In the beta version, everything would seem okay for a while, but eventually a song would freeze or get stuck and make a weird "stuck" sound, and then eventually the app would just shut down. I tried it on two separate days, and got stuck on different songs, so it didn't appear to be recording specific. Also all these recordings were played without issue via Auto DJ on the stable version after I rolled back to the stable version.
