Maybe we should also just write our own efi wrapper. There are some limitations of the uefi-rs crate that make it kind of inconvenient to use. At the very least it should be more encapsulated in its own module.

Split into 'core' and 'efi' crates

This allows us to actually run tests on the 'core' crate,
