1. Click + Subscribe
2. paste https://theness.com/feed/ into the web address field
3. Click Subscribe
4. Error message pops up in the upper right corner: AxiosError: Request failed with status code 500
5. Report issue to The Ness web admin.
6. Receive reply from The Ness web admin stating "The feed seems to be working for me. Could have thrown the 500 error during an update."

So then there is nothing that nextcloud/news can do about it right?

I've tried since both after receiving the reply from the web admin and during the process of gathering info to submit this to you and it still gives the error. So would seem to still be an issue.
I've also found out that this particular feed isn't updated that often and an associated blog's rss feed is the main one that gets updated, so this isn't a priority, but thought it might still be something to look into in case News has something causing the error that could be fixed in case it may potentially cause errors with other rss feeds as well.

@SMillerDev I think this exception should not happen though, it's the missing title element that triggers an SQL exception.

I remember I suggested a fix for it but you wanted another approach, which seems not to work all the time.

I hit the same error with https://n-o-d-e.net/rss/rss.xml. The problem is, as @Grotax correctly noted, that it tries to insert a NULL title, which does not work. What is expected to go into the title field? I copied the request as curl using Firefox' dev tools and added the website title to the JSON payload, which seems to have done what I wanted. A <title> is present (and not empty) in the RSS feed, but somehow it wasn't picked up. This is on 25.0.0-alpha.8

I'm seeing the same AxiosError/Internal Server Error on multiple sites. Each of the sites has a working feed URL that I can manually download from, but the server seems unable to digest them. Is there any workaround for this issue?

Hey so I will lock this issue because I feel like people are mixing different topics.

There was the issue that when you added a feed without a title it would break the news app and cause an error in your logs, that should be fixed now if not please open an issue.

Then there is the problem that while news is fetching the feed the Feed-Server so wherever your feed comes from, responding with an error. You can see that too in the logs if you check it will say that while trying to read the feed an error was encountered. Now we can of course try to help you look into these issues but you need to support this effort by.

1. providing the link to the feed
2. Extracting the part from your logs that show what the issue was.
