I think it only happens when on mobile beacuse the screen is small enough.

GitMate.io thinks possibly related issues are #10486 (Mobile fixes), #10787 (Fixes the app menu), #10556 (App menu background to short), #3921 (Firefox: Icons invisible in app menu), and #3959 (New app menu makes external links very hard to use).
