An app that indicates your aircraft location on meteo maps, using SimAir.io events.
In the project directory, you can run:
You will need to install yarn.

You will need to install this firefox extension that helps with bypassing CORS(Cross Origin Requests) for now to access event data from SimAir. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cors-everywhere/
After you restart your browser, you will need to click the extension and Toggle it on.
Open the command line and run
- Open your command line (Windows start -> Command Prompt)
- git clone https://github.com/nikilok/meteo-map-viewer.git
- navigate to the folder (
cd <path/to/repo>
) and install packages usingyarn
You will first need to install all packages used by this app with this command.
Runs the app in the development mode.
Open http://localhost:3000?user=useraccount to view it in the browser.
You will need to pass your SimAir user account name in the url's user
parameter.
The app will automatically fetch your latest flight and display it.
This should enable automatic flight tracking with weather at the altitude your flying at.
- Right click your browser and select "Inspect / Inspect Element".
- Find the items that says
class="gdpr_message"
- Right click that item and select "Delete element" (or) simply select the item and hit delete on your keyboard.
- You can now close the Inspect tool and view your simulated aircraft on the meteoblue page.
Optional map type inputs Open http://localhost:3000?user=useraccount&map=wind~hourly to get aircraft altitude plotted to the specific wind map type.
You could use the following map types for the map parameter in the url
- windAnimation~coldwarm (default)
- windAnimation~rainbow
- wind~hourly
- cloudsAndPrecipitation~hourly
