There is no earthly reason why I have been banned from node.js chat room. I am a developer working on many projects with a lot to do!!!!

Could someone help me out?

Thanks

Christopher

\o I'm one of the mods in the chat. Talk to me if you need to, though I'll go ask who banned you why.

I have never had a conversation with anyone other than perfectly reasonable. I remember someone saying they thought I was a troll (not to me, to someone else), but it seemedl like a passing comment, and no one addressed me directly. Speaking by text is not a perfect science, but someone must have been in a pretty odd mood to ban me.

You can ask whoever you like, Ive not been around node long enough nor posted in any way enough things to be banned.

Im also running into issues which I would really like the support of the space.
I switch from Node to iojs (back to node) because of the community fell and principles of iojs. People were lovely to me.

https://www.earth-ways.com is a site I built, which I run for free.
Also this is me: http://188.166.43.128/fileStorage/thisEquals/tutorials/thisEqualsThat_featureDemo.ogv

If someone can dig up a conversation where they can show I did anything even remotely negative .. well they wont be able to, because i never do.

Ive been posting on scrollback for weeks including messages like "is this the wrong place" etc, trying to engage, trying to help people where I can, and its only since I hooked up irssi on my new server I could tell something was up, and I wasnt just being ignored. Im dealing with it pretty well! :)

Scrollback.io completely transparently doesnt deal with being banned.

More importantly, Ive been a developer for 27 years, and Im putting some serious effort into tools for the whole node platform.

@christopherreay this is not the correct place to get this resolved, ping @aredridel on IRC about resolving, this has been the process for longer than this repository has even existed :) for more information see http://nodeirc.info/

Indeed: And the resolution is that #node.js is +q $-a, which mutes anyone not identified with nickserv. The downside is that when you try to post a message, the error says "you are banned".

Seems a little unfriendly to newcomers. What's the reason? Spam?

@bnoordhuis yeah, spam.
