Nominating Chris Dickinson to the TC #51
Comments
should have probably done @chrisdickinson :) |
can we nominate people? i'd like to nominate @dougwilson to everything because he's a machine |
👍 (Also +1 to @dougwilson, if we are taking nominations, though I think we should make a separate thread then.) |
Let's not get carried away throwing names in here. I believe that TC members will be accepted by the TC on the basis of their contributions to core, not just their general awesomeness. Of course @chrisdickinson wins on both counts so +1 from me. |
hehe i like getting carried away. side question. @mikeal do you actually want the community to confirm the nomination or are you just looking for feedback from other core contributors? naming the audience would be nice. most of us aren't going to read the governing docs so we don't know how this works. |
+1 from me too |
@jonathanong the TC needs to confirm the nomination, if then end up all voting here and Chris says "yes I would like that" then he can be added before the next meeting. If it doesn't have by the next meeting this issues is tagged for the next |
@jonathanong whoops, I forgot something, that said if anyone had strong objections (I have no idea why they would) then we do want to enable those to be voiced so that the TC takes that to consideration when voting. |

Fwiw, @chrisdickinson has a negligible amount of code contributions in core. (I'm still +1 though.) |
@Fishrock123 I believe much of his contribution-weight has been around issue and bug management thus far (which I think we should encourage as an ideal entry point for anybody wanting a path "up the ladder") |
(Yes, I realize that. Should have mentioned it. This probably needs to be clearer for others in #22 though.) |
+1 |
Yeah, GitHub doesn't count the issues you comment, close, tag, etc as contributions (while it could be as important as lines of code). +1 |
+1 Dude is incredible. |
Thanks for the kind words! I'd be honored to join the TC, if they'd have me. |
Another +1. |

@chrisdickinson was unanimously added to the TC. Congrats |
resolved in #144 |
Chris has provided some of the best comments on recent issues and has been a pretty active contributor for a while. He's also just a great guy and everyone likes him :)
