There should be the ability to filter searches in the devices, software and operating systems tab. This would allow users to filter by things such as device_type or Publisher

In addition to the filtering originally requested a further option was discussed today.

Adding the ability to view by grouped items. For example all desktops are grouped together, all virtual machines are grouped together. Not sure if this would be grouped based off of manufacturer, model, device type or if it was up to the user to assign a device to a group of items.

The benefit of this is that when applying a filter such as view items a-z and view by groups the user would be presented with the items showing like this

  • Group Desktops

    • Device 1
    • Device 2
    • Device 3
  • Group Laptops

    • Device 4
    • Device 6
    • Device 8
  • Group Not grouped

  • Device 5

  • Device 7

  • Device 9
