r tag on kind 1 notes

Hi all.

r tags are defined, with two different meanings, in NIP-24 and NIP-65.

They seem to be rather different uses of the tag, so I'm not sure why it's the same tag name.

However, I think including r tags in kind 1 note which link to web pages is reasonable and consistent with NIP-24. Yet, I have noticed events with URL are currently being posted without r tags.
Personally, I think that searching for posts that contain a particular URL can be useful. I've done it on Twitter at times.

My question is whether including a r tag in the post when the user includes a link is indeed NIP-24-compliant or I have misinterpreted it.

Yep, it's nip-24.

Tags can have completely different meanings in separate event kinds.

Do you have any clue why it's so uncommon in kind 0 events, which seems like a rather obvious use of the tag?

EDIT: I'm a moron, I meant kind 1.

Kind 0 is metadata. I don't think r tags have meaning there.

Well, not every client implements it. Those you see are coming from those who implement NIP-24
