All bitcoin lightning wallet clients connected to nodes use http/tor, they should also be able to use nostr.

Useful for clients wanting to intergrate non-custodal wallet features.

Intended for use with bitcoin, but could be used with any invoice payment system that can pay invoices/create invoices/check payment status.

We wanted LNbits to have a funding source that could pay invoices/create invoices/check payment status all over nostr DMs, but usefulness extends way beyond our use case.

No more opening of ports for your bitcoin lightning node, it can remain safe/sound on your local network 🤗

Go here people #406
Although I will say, that their proposal is very bitcoin-centric, my proposal still leaves room for other payment rails, like a traditional Stripe invoice.

This sounds like a great idea. 👍

@kiwiidb NIP-47 looks like it's just for making payments although it does mention other possible commands. Are there any other PRs for generating invoices for example?

No, not at the moment, because LN Address is already the established method for generating invoices. There has been some discussion here: lnurl/luds#203 , but that seems kinda a dead-end.
