pdavidow/ScanApp

Repository files navigation

This app models the following problem using the State pattern, and is currently backend-only:

A ski resort company needs a system to handle scanning of lift tickets in all its resorts.

This company owns 7 ski resorts (all within same timezone); 2 of them are ‘promo’ resorts.

The following rules apply in selling and scanning of lift tickets: # Each ticket expires at the end of the current ski season. # Each ticket can be used during any given day only in a single resort. # Time interval between two scans must be greater than a given minimum time interval specific for each resort.

Five types of lift tickets are available:

#‘1 day’ ticket (valid for any non-promo resort) #‘1 day promo’ ticket (valid for any promo resort and non-promo resort) #‘2 out of 3 days’ ticket (valid for 2 days for any non-promo resort) #‘3 out of 5 days’ ticket (valid for 3 days for any non-promo resort, one of those 3 days can be used in a promo resort) #‘5 out of 7 days’ ticket (valid for 5 days for any non-promo resort, two of those 5 days can be used in a promo resort)

Each ‘X out of Y days’ ticket will expire Y days after the ticket was used for the first time (where X < Y). E.g., A ‘2 out of 3’ ticket can be used any 2 days within 3 days from the first use of the ticket.
