Hello,
My name is Eclesio Melo and I am a software engineer for Gossamer, a Golang implementation of the Polkadot Host. I have been working in the Polkadot ecosystem since May of 2021, and since that time I have worked full-time to make Gossamer a resilient Polkadot Host.
Here are some highlights of my contributions to the Polkadot ecosystem:
Earlier this year, I worked on Gossamer's RPC layer and implementing the JSON-RPC API specified by PSP-6
Recently, I have take more responsibilities related to Polkadot's consensus mechanisms; specifically, I have worked on the following
The task I have enjoyed working on the most is implementing GRANDPA scheduled- and forced-changes. In particular, I have found my discussions with Parity developers (such as Andre Silva) very enjoyable and helpful with respect to understanding Substrate's implementation of the GRANDPA finalisation algorithm. I've enjoy my communication with Parity developers on Element, Github, and the Substrate Stack Exchange and I would love to have more such opportunities as a member of the Polkadot Fellowship!
I am requesting to join the Fellowship with a rank of 1 (Humble Member) since I do not have a semi-technical article concerning about Polkadot to request rank 2 (Proficient Member)
