This guide will walk you through the process of setting up and installing the React.js project from the GitHub repository: real-estate-frontend.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have the following tools and software installed on your system:

1. Node.js and npm (Node Package Manager):

Download and Install Node.js

Node js Setup

Download Node.js :
Visit the official Node.js website (https://nodejs.org/) and download the 18.16.0. LTS versions are more stable and recommended for most projects.

Install Node.js :
Run the installer you downloaded and follow the installation instructions. Make sure to include npm (Node Package Manager) during installation, as it comes bundled with Node.js.

Verify Installation :
Open a terminal or command prompt and type the following commands to verify that Node.js and npm are installed :
node -v or npm -v

MongoDB Compass Setup

Download MongoDB Compass or create account in mongodb Atlas

Installation Steps for Frontend

Follow these steps to install and run the React.js project on your local machine:

Download the ZIP File:
Download the ZIP file containing the React.js project from a source such as a website, GitHub repository, or any other platform.
Extract the ZIP File:
Locate the downloaded ZIP file and extract its contents to a directory of your choice on your computer.
Open a Terminal:
Open a terminal or command prompt on your computer. This is where you'll run the necessary commands to set up and run the React project.
Navigate to Project Directory:
Use the cd command to navigate to the directory where you extracted the contents of the ZIP file. For example:

cd path/to/project-directory

Install Dependencies:
In the project directory, there should be a package.json file that lists the project's dependencies. Run the following command to install these dependencies:

npm install or if you're using Yarn yarn install

Start the Development Server:
Once the dependencies are installed, you can start the development server to run your React application locally:

npm start or if you're using Yarn yarn start

Change baseUrl:

Go to Project Directory Open constant.js file change baseUrl to your Server URL to connect to the backend
Ex: baseUrl: 'http://127.0.0.1:5001/'

Access the Application:

After the development server starts successfully, you'll see an output indicating that the application is running. Open your web browser and navigate to http://localhost:3000 (or the specified port if different) to access your React.js application.

Follow these steps to install and run the backend on your local machine:

Download the ZIP File:
Download the ZIP file containing the React.js project from a source such as a website, GitHub repository, or any other platform.
Extract the ZIP File:
Locate the downloaded ZIP file and extract its contents to a directory of your choice on your computer.
Open a Terminal:
Open a terminal or command prompt on your computer. This is where you'll run the necessary commands to set up and run the React project.
Navigate to Project Directory:
Use the cd command to navigate to the directory where you extracted the contents of the ZIP file. For example:

cd path/to/project-directory

Install Dependencies:
In the project directory, there should be a package.json file that lists the project's dependencies. Run the following command to install these dependencies:

npm install or if you're using yarn yarn install

Enter Database URL:

Create .env file in to your project directory
Open Project Directory -> .env file
Ex : DB_URL = paste your mongoDB URL hear

Enter Database Name :

Open Project Directory -> .env file
Ex : DB = Enter your mongoDB Database Name

Start the Development Server :
Once the dependencies are installed, you can start the development server to run your React application locally :

npm start

Open the application

Open your Internet browser and type the following URL in the browser address bar http://localhost:3000/

You can log in with the admin default credentials:

Email: admin@gmail.com
Password: admin123

In the constant.js file, there will be baseUrl. Not "REACT_APP_BASE_URL"

REACT_APP_BASE_URL will go into the .env file.

Hi there, I just pulled the latest code, but I couldn't see any DB migrations or even the initialization of collections/documents. That's why I have an empty Add Lead (and all others) drawer, cause the customFields collection is empty in DB. Can you please guide me on how to create a new module and then assign keynames for that module? Because I couldn't even see any option to create a new module.

Installation on ubuntu 22.04 with node v18.19.1

Client:

Still get an CORS error:

Cross-origin request blocked: The Same-Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at http://127.0.0.1:5001/api/images/?isActive=true.
 (Reason: CORS request failed). Status code: (null).

which is quite obvious cause it tries to access 'http://127.0.0.1:5001/api/images/?isActive=true as external URL.

Changing the baseUrl to reflect the actual external server IP worked indeed.

This is logical cause i have accessed the server from its external ip so my axios requests look like this:

AxiosError@http://EXTERNAL_SERVER_IP:3000/static/js/bundle.js

I think you only tested it locally and accessed the frontend with http://localhost:3000 in this case it would work.

I can work around this by specifying the external server ip and using iptables to limit access to port :5001 to its own ip.

I would offer my help to modify this to use it with external IPs as well cause i like your software...

Since a managed now to run you app in a production environment with using different subdomains for server and client the app works now and I am able to login. However i see the this errors in the console and I am not able to add properties:

Are you using Node 18.17.1? If not, please use this version and take a latest pull?

Hello! Why does it keeps crashing after changing the admin username? It shows a blank page and generates this error on the terminal:

Hi Team ProLinkInfo,

Your team has made an amazing effort and put in much work. I have a slight issue on my end - I cannot seem to get the form to render in the Add.js file in the Property component. This results in a blank modal being displayed, after the 'Add New' button is clicked..

This is from a downloaded version of your code, run on my local machine via Visual Studio Code.

I've included a screenshot.

There will be show as many fields as are added from profile > Admin Setting > custom fields.

Hey @prolinkinfo The solution you provided is not working .In Admin setting > custom fields is not showing any module. so i am unable to add fields for property component. please help me to solve this problem.

Hi, yes the problem has been resolved. You need to go to the admin settings then go to customs fields and there you can add options that you want to add either in property, contacts etc...

what i do on the server machine:

run npm install in RealEstateCRM-main/Client and RealEstateCRM-main/server directory
run npm start in RealEstateCRM-main/Client, and get the below message:

unfortunately i'm unable to test on the server machine, and i'm new to react + express, maybe i'd try to install at some other servers to see if anything is different...

Thanks for creating this amazing product.

We are exploring if we can use RealEstateCRM in our website. I was going through the demo link to see the features.
I can login using admin credentials but not using regular user as it says invalid login credentials.

I am using below credentials:-

Regular access: Username: user@gmail.com Password: user123

Can you please share correct login credentials for regular user?

Hello, You have created a very good functionality. I would add many cool features but I'm not a developer. I am a real estate agency owner who is quite technical and knows how things should work. First of all, thank you for publishing this project for free.

As for the issue, I spent a lot of effort on the installation, I installed it, then I could not get the authorization, I fix it, but in console lot of errors. Now what I would like to ask you team members and also other users, I want to host it somehow on webhosting and not on dedicated server, can anyone make a video how to set all this up on webhosting? my hosting plan have node.js in cpanel. I think it would be very useful.

Please share the list of the cool features you want to see in this CRM and we will definitely add those in our plan.

For installation process, our team is already working on optimising it and make it easy.

Let us try to setup it on web hosting and share a video here but please confirm with your server provider once again if their hosting plan supports MERN stack application.

I'm experiencing some errors when I try to run the software :
I have unpacked the files in my local machine and tried to run the server and client side,
However on the web application. there is no network activity recorded when I try to sign in , consequently I can't sign in.

If you go to the Roles module, you will have an idea.

You can configure roles as per your needs. There are no predefined roles. It's more flexible.
