Pre-built mailers so consumers only need to provide API key / access details then they can start sending emails.

At least provide an smtp option. Maybe provide platform specific options, e.g. Sendgrid.

How much to add on top of a basic smtp client lib? Can smtp and sendgrid options share a common interface/trait, or would that be more confusing?

• How to handle sendgrid in local testing? Even with sandbox mode an actual api key is required I believe, which isn't ideal. We may be able to utilize the common interface to implement some fallback behavior.
• Health check to confirm the app can connect to the sendgrid server ... Hmm, it doesn't seem Sendgrid has a ping or health check API, so I'm not sure we can do this. This would also make local dev difficult because an actual API key would be needed.

Both

• Add a common interface for sending emails with either sendgrid (specifically, sendgrid's non-smtp API) or smtp?
• Utilities for constructing email html content for the SMTP integration?
