Description

This is a fullstack app that uses html, css, bootstrap, nodeJS, express, express handlebars, mongoDb and mongoose. It implements the following html routes GET '/exercises' to allow exercise details to be added to a workout and /stats route to show the user's exercise stats. It also implements the following api routes. POST '/api/workouts' for creating a new workout in json format. PUT '/api/workouts/:id/ for updating a particular workout's exercise ( in general to add an exercise to existing workout). GET 'api/workouts' to get all the past exercises of the user. GET '/api/workouts/range' to get last 7 days' exercise. This application uses a mongo db. It uses a mongoose orm to abstract the data base queries.

The user log and track his workouts grouped under "resistance" and cardio category.

Installation

You need express, mongo, mongoose, morgan packages installed for this app to run. So the steps are :

  1. Clone this repository
  2. Issue npm i at your local repository root, so that all dependencies (express, express-handlebars, mysql, dotenv packages ) are installed.
  3. Then you can use loop back address on your local machine to exercise this app. For that launch the app at the root of the repository 'nodemon server.js'. Then in the browser, go to http://localhost:3000/ and navigate from there to see the app in action.
  4. You may also deploy it in deployment platforms such as Heroku and then access the app using the url provided by the platform.

Instructions

Since this is a full stack app, the app needs to be deployed first. There is a deployed version available in Heroku. The url for the deployed app is https://fast-ridge-87581.herokuapp.com/. From here by filling out a new workout and exercise details workout will get created in the database . It is possible to add exercises to existing workout of that day, be it completed or otherwise. But for past days' you cannot modify the workouts, viz., you cannot add exercises to past time ( past days). Currently there is no way to neither delete the burger nor clear the database for the user.

Increase the version numbers in any examples files and the README.md to the new version that this Pull Request would represent. The versioning scheme we use is SemVer. You may merge the Pull Request in once you have the sign-off of two other developers, or if you do not have permission to do that, you may request the second reviewer to merge it for you.
