Cannot turn on the keyboard backlight after switching colors #1646
Comments
@patrpok try to set clean red color to keyboard |
Yes, that works. Thank you! |
@patrpok can you post a log from this build ? problem is that not all GA402X devices have single-color keyboard , and I need a way to detect it somehow in advance. This build will log some info about keyboard |
I have the Asus ROG M16 and tested this static color change to black and then back to white from a pervious static white color and it switched back from black as it should. 100% normal functionality for me personally FYI. Fas |

@patrpok great, thanks. This build should correctly detect single-color keyboard, and hide color selection at all for you :) |
Thank you @seerge ! Excellent quick support as always. much appreciated 👍👍👍 |
@seerge This change has some issues for me. My keyboard blacklight supports RGB, but the whole keyboard can only display one color at a time. So the Here is the log of 0.135:
And the log of the version in comment:

@seerge Thanks a lot~ |
Describe the bug
Keyboard backlight cannot be turned on after changing color of Static mode to black and then back to white. Only option to get it on again with static mode is through Armoury Crate. Only way to achieve at least some backlight through GHelper is to turn on Breathe mode.
Clear scenario to Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Expected behavior
After selecting Color back to white I would assume that keyboard backlight turns on again

Asus software
Additional context
I tried to use different colors on my non RGB keyboard to be able to set different backlight level than implemented discrete method - to get lower backlight intensity than LOW which actually worked until I tried to set it to black. Changing backlight mode to Breathe will turn on the backlight in "breathing mode" where I can use colors to achieve the same output but I rather turn of the backlight for good than look at it flashing, breathing or whatever. I would assume that Strobe mode should be also working as it is implemented in Armoury Crate, but setting this mode on also turns the backlight completely off no matter what color is chosen.
