PHP Version: 8.3 | Shopware Version: 6.6.6.1 | Affected area / extension: Platform(Default)

Expected behaviour:

As a customer I am able to change my own account language so that asynchronously sent emails are in my own language.

This used (<6.5) to be possible automatically using the language switcher.
The ticket where this changed says that the customer should be able to change their language in their My Profile page. However this was never implemented.

In an ideal world, multiple implementations are supported and are available behind a configuration flag:

  • Auto update on login
  • Auto update on language switch
  • Manual choice on My Profile page

Actual behaviour:

Currently the language for a Customer is only set during registration and can only be changed by the admin.

How to reproduce:

In a multilanguage Shopware setup try to change the account language.
