An applet for cinnamon to detect webcam usage.

Create a folder under ~/.local/share/cinnamon/applets/

Restart cinnamon with alt + f2, then type "r" and hit enter.

Add applet to your taskbar. Red circle means webcam is not being used, green means it is.

You can also click on the green circle and kill the process that is using the webcam.
