This process can take up to 15 minutes.
Here are the steps:
- Open MATLAB
- When prompted, choose “flight” and click “OK”:
- After all the automated updates/checks are completed, you should see the axaftools dialog.
- Click on the “Settings…” link to open the Settings dialog.
- Select the “dev” option in the “Ska Python version” dropdown menu.
- Click the “Ok” button.
- If you don’t have the dev branch yet, MATLAB should prompt you to install it. Click “Yes” to download and install the dev branch. This will open up a dialog allowing you to specify where to download the branch to. The defaults should be fine.
- Click the “OK” button. This step took ~9.5 minutes from my home over the vpn. Your mileage may vary.
- You are now running MATLAB with an up-to-date version of the Python3-dev branch!
Note: The next time you open MATLAB, it will default back to the “flight” version of Python, and you will need to follow steps 1-6 to switch back to the Dev Branch if you want to use it.
