This project aims to create a facial recognition system that allows a doctor to take attendance using an app. The system uses a retrained FaceNet architecture as a feature extraction model to understand the similarity among face features. Then, a small neural network is trained using these features. Finally, the system is deployed using Flask API and HTML pages in the templates folder. When the doctor takes an image using the app, the attendance is taken, and the attendance sheet is sent to the doctor.
To install this project, follow these steps:
- Clone the project repository using
git clone https://github.com/space-codes/attendance-system.git
- Navigate to the project directory using
cd attendance-system
- Create a virtual environment using
python -m venv env
- Activate the virtual environment using
source env/bin/activate
on macOS or Linux, or.\env\Scripts\activate
on Windows. - Install the required packages using pip install -r
src/requirements.txt
To use this project, follow these steps:
- Activate the virtual environment using
source env/bin/activate
on macOS or Linux, or.\env\Scripts\activate
on Windows. - Navigate to the
src
directory usingcd src
- Run the Flask app using
python app.py
- Open a web browser and navigate to
http://localhost:5000
to access the app.
