I'm a software developer with close ties to the Debian GNU/Linux project. I've maintained several dozens of packages for the project including Bluefish, GnuPG, the DocBook XML/XSLT toolchain, chemistry related software, and ruby libraries and programs (my main focus is on the Jekyll environment here). I have supported a bunch of those open source software projects in this time by providing patches and writing code for upstream. I have done this because I deeply believe in the idea of free and open source software.
