For the past 3 years I have been contributing to WordPress, mainly on the site WordPress.org. My main goal is to make the non-developer information easier to find.
The first project I worked on is the reclassification of end-user documentation (HelpHub) in WordPress.org. There are several goals to accomplish but the most important is to improve search and usability. The work has been done and we are waiting for the meta team to implement it. The goals and tasks included:
- Creating a clear search by
- simplifying categories and adding subcategories
- renaming articles
- Making the content end-user friendly by
- removing developer jargon
- transfering developer-focused articles to developer.wp.org
To spend 25 hours per week on WordPress.org and improve the documentation template and navigation and other areas where information is very difficult to find.
