Hi, my name is Rich Koshak, and I am a maker, into home automation, and actively contribute to the openHAB project. I like to focus on helping new users understand and get the most out of their home automation systems so spend most of my time answering questions on the openHAB forum, contributing to the docs, writing tutorials, and writing tools to make working with openHAB easier.

Beyond my activities on the forum, which is where I donate most of my time, I've developed:

• sensorReporter which is a light weight Python service that can connect sensors and and actuators running on a remote machine to openHAB through MQTT or directly through the openHAB API.
• openhab-rules-tools which is a library of utilities to make writing openHAB rules easier and some rule templates which users can just install, instantiate, and use. This also includes a Block library interface which allows even Blockly users to take advantage of the library.
• Numerous openHAB MainUI widgets that are published to the openHAB Marketplace
• I often serve as "The Voice of the User" on development threads in openHAB and serve that role on the Architectural Counsel for openHAB.

A sponsorship would help me justify contributing to openHAB and home automation in general in more ways including rewrite of sections of the docs for openHAB, development of a a National Weather Service binding, contributing to the Honeywell binding on the marketplace, and create a Willow binding to enable better support for local voice control. I would also like to add Thread support to sensorReporter and contribute to adding support to openHAB and will need to purchase hardware before I can make that happen.
