Cars MX5
There is already a buttload of information out there about these cars, pretty much anything you want to know has already been done and documented, often with photographs and videos. Here is my small drop in the ocean.
Focus on first generation NA/Mk1 (1989-1997) unless otherwise specified.
- M5x20 stainless button head screw, M5 10x1 mm nylon washer. Needs the manual (non-electronic) antenna
- If you have the electric antenna, take the whole antenna out and use a grommet in the body.
- Brake Caliper Bleeder, Rear - M8 x 1.0 mm, 34mm long - Good Win Racing
- Brake Caliper Bleeder, Rear - M7 x 1.0 mm, 34mm long - Good Win Racing
- Crush Washer, brakes - ID 10mm, OD 15mm - MX5OX
- Crush Washer, Sump/Gearbox/Diff - ID 18mm, OD 24mm - Mania
- Engine Sump Plug - M14 x 1.5 mm thread
- Engine Oil Cap - M35 x 4.0 mm thread (sometimes called M36)
- Exhaust Manifold Studs (MiataRoadster Kit)
- Nine M10x1.25, 48mm long, grade 8 studs, yellow zinc
- Nine M10x1.25 flanged serrated nuts, silver zinc
- Nine M10 Nord-Lock washers
- M10x1.25 tap to chase threads (imo use a thread chaser, not a tap)
- anti-seize for nut end of studs
- Cotronics Resbond 907TS threadlock
- Sway Bar, Front 19mm - bushing NA01-34-156A (cross-ref BPS, Rockauto)
- Sway Bar, Rear 12mm - bushing FB01-28-156 (cross-ref BPS)
- Frankenstein cover side screw - M4 10mm countersunk
- Soft top / hard top screws, class 10.9 flanged black zinc oxide
- Latch - Original M6 ~18mm with JIS+3 head (Warning: do not use Phillips)
- M6 20mm - Wurth AU, McMaster USA
- Striker - Original M8 20mm with Torx T40 head
- M8 20mm - Wurth AU, McMaster USA
- Radiator Fan Switch (front of motor) - Tridon TFS114
- Rear upper mudflap clip - NA12-51-876A (huge thanks to IL Motorsport)
