"ReferenceError: path is not defined" with quire pdf

I have Quire installed on Ubuntu 20.04 (via WSL 2). I recently purchased a license for PrinceXML and upgraded from 12 to 14. Since then, I've been getting this error when trying to build the PDF:

$ quire pdf
⠹ Building PDFBrowserslist: caniuse-lite is outdated. Please run next command `npm update`
✖ ReferenceError: path is not defined

I do have the prince command available on my PATH, so it appears to be installed correctly. I think this error is related to a webpack config, but I don't know. Any tips on how to troubleshoot?

Hi @chrisdaaz, I think I've seen this ✖ ReferenceError: path is not defined error myself before but can't remember in what context. A couple questions to start: what version of Quire are you running (quire --version)? And if you run a test on Prince like this, does it output a pdf of that web page as you'd expect?:

prince https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balloon_modelling -o balloons.pdf

And does running quire pdf --verbose give you any more output in your command line shell that might be useful?

I have Quire version v0.18.0. The prince command you gave me a PDF of the webpage that looks as expected.

The --verbose flag is a good idea I didn't consider, but I'm not seeing any new hints from it:

I figured it out! I had removed localhost:1313 from the baseURL: key in config/pdf.yml. I don't know why I did that, but when I put it back, the PDF built properly. I didn't realize this command builds the sites on localhost before making the PDF from it, so I don't think I realized the importance of that line. Thanks for tip on using --verbose!
