Hardware
To make use of this project you will need an Arduino and a DW1000 (or a DWM1000 module). The project contains designs for a DWM1000 adapter board, however more complex projects will require additional components and designs. This page should be use to list hardware that has been successfully used with the DecaWave chip.
Instead of the adapter board, have a look here or even here. There are PCBs already availabe which carry arduino pro minis. If you send them an email, they also give a away only the PCBs (excl. the DWM and Arduino) for much cheaper. There are also STM32F103 based PCBs available, they are much faster and offer more RAM and Flash memory here
The DW1000 operates at 3.3V, unless you are using a 3.3V Arduino you will need to level shift the SPI lines to avoid damaging the chip. Parts listed below have all been used successfully:
- 4-channel I2C-safe Bi-directional Logic Level Converter - BSS138
- SparkFun Logic Level Converter - Bi-Directional
- TXB0104
You can also used a potential divider as cheap & simple level shifter as explained here (please note, this will only work in one direction).
