When watching a video the time navigation should disappear automatically after a certain time period.

It already does that

On Android Firefox it doesn't. I've used it a lot and it never did.

I also can confirm that this is "flaky" on Android, on my case it's in Chrome and Brave.
When initially starting a playback, the navigation bar disappears as expected, but if further interaction is done with the video (eg. pause/resume or activating fullscreen) then the navigation bar does not hide itself anymore most of the time.

Rather than opening a new issue, I'll use this as it would effectively solve my problem.

Currently, I am watching an Osmodevcon 2019 video attempting to read a schematic:

While this is a minor inconvenience in this case I have been paused for over 5 minutes and the Voctocat (related to #224) still occludes the content.

This has been replicated on Firefox 111.0.1 (64-bit aarch64) on MacOS and Firefox 112.0 (64-bit amd64) shipped by Fedora 37 (firefox-112.0-3.fc37).
