Reverts #267 so that we can ship the fix in #268 without also shipping the code in #267 (which should go out in the next minor version - 2.3.0, and which also needs #272 addressed).
I've created a new
release/2.3.0branch without this code reverted. We will likely need to revert the revert though after 2.2.2 is released to make sure it persists on that branch...
