slow download speeds from YouTube

I notice some incredible slow YouTube download speeds my connection using speedtest

@89z I'm sorry I just it's hard to go along with hundreds of posts looking for solutions ( I didn't find any unfortunately) if you want to close it that's up to you, perhaps you may want to consider updating FAQ with this issue.

Presumably you don't mean from Youtube ? Or an example would be useful.

no streaming videos from YouTube website directly works fine without stutter or lag it's just Youtube-dl can't take the full bandwidth of my connection, this problem can be caused by a lot of reasons that's why I thought of creating my own issue, anyway next time I'll go to stackoverflow where they at least mark the correct answer.

If you want to just get going use https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp otherwise youtube-dl might take months - years to update again :)
( pip3 install yt-dlp ) etc

@G2G2G2G thank you I've already switched to yt-dlp what's wrong with youtube-dl that last commit was updated three and half months ago

and now this is how they handle issues ?! actually, this issue reached many users and got some attention on Reddit, youtube-dl was a great program now look what happened.

@89z I use youtube-dl to play my website videos because browsers on Linux don't support H/W video acceleration, MPV fixes all these issues, but it needs a youtube-dl client to stream the video buffer before being played on my Linux computer.
