Replaces #86. Fixes #74. Addresses some of #71 too.
It proved problematic to introduce Storybook. I don't want to get bogged down in that kind of stuff. Want my impact on Lyra to be acceleration. So here's a new pull request that simply solves the core problem in the smallest possible diff.
