FastStream does not collect any data of any kind.

1. There is no telemetry.

Tip: Google and Mozilla may still track what extensions you use if you install from their stores. While the risk of Google/Mozilla leaking harmful data is low, FastStream developers recommend manual installation for maximum privacy and security.

2. All persistent data is stored locally.

Note: chrome.storage.local is used for storing configurations. IndexedDB is used for temporarily storing video fragments on non-chromium browsers only. IndexedDB is also used to store saved playback progress data when enabled in settings. This data is stored with hashed video identifiers (PBKDF2, 600000 iterations with 128 bit salt) [See Code].

3. No servers

Note: FastStream will contact servers used for fetching videos or subtitles. FastStream developers do not operate or maintain any of these servers. Manually installed versions of FastStream may also check Github for retrieving the latest available version [See Code].
