What can I do on Cherokee Language Exercises?

Practice and build vocabulary

You can work through collections of vocabulary with custom daily lessons. Pick a collection from the "Find new vocabulary" section and click "Start studying this collection." Then go to the dashboard, scroll down to the vocabulary section, and click "15 minute lesson with new terms." You will then be prompted to pick an exercise to complete your lesson: flashcard review or distinguishing similar terms.

Flashcards exercise

If you do your lesson with flashcards, you will see terms one at a time, starting with Cherokee by default. You then speak the translation yourself. You are not being recorded, but speaking aloud really improves learning outcomes! You can then click the card, or press "Enter" or the spacebar to flip the card. You will then hear the audio for the other side of the card. You can use the buttons at the bottom to mark if you answered correctly or incorrectly. You can also use the keyboard instead of the mouse (instructions are in the app).

Similar terms exercise

If you do your lesson with similar terms, you will hear the Cherokee audio for a term and will be presented with two English answers. You should pick the correct English translation.
