CSM Stereo Testing Examples

Trent Hare edited this page Aug 9, 2022 · 32 revisions

These stereo-pair image sets and metadata are for testing camera models within the Astrogeology (USGS) Community Sensor Model (CSM) software. Software applications with support for our CSM includes BAE's Socet GXP, NASA Ames Stereo Pipeline, and initial support in Astro's ISIS3. While not tested, the use of the Astrogeology CSM camera models and these stereo models may work in applications like Harris Corp's Envi, Esri's ArcGIS Pro, Hexagon's ERDAS Imagine, OSGeo's OSSIM.

Knoten is an independent CSM Python-based testing environment and also maintains a list of current supported instruments in the USGS CSM library: https://github.com/USGS-Astrogeology/knoten

APPL-Tools (Astrogeology Planetary Photogrammetry Lab) is an environment with scripts to help prepare images (and other data) for Socet GXP and connect GXP and ASP's pc_align: https://github.com/AndrewAnnex/APPL-Tools

To test these models in Socet GXP see this thread (recommended 4.5.x, 4.4.0 or 4.4.2 -- not 4.4.1): https://github.com/USGS-Astrogeology/usgscsm/wiki/GXP:-USGSCSM-library-installation-for-Socet-GXP

  • *_tiff.zip contains the stereo images in TIFF format, CSM required Image Support Data (ISD) metadata as .json files, and also has USGS-finalized output products (DEM and orthophotos) as processed in BAE's Socet SET.
  • *_cub.zip contains the stereo images in ISIS3 cube format and CSM required Image Support Data (ISD) metadata as .json files.
