What's new in Adapt It Mobile 1.2.0
Split Window Support
Adapt It Mobile now supports side-by-side windowing on devices with larger screens. This type of view is useful for displaying translation help alongside Adapt It Mobile as you translate on a tablet.
Project Language Enhancements
Adapt It Mobile has a new autocomplete mechanism for specifying the source and target language of a translation project. Type in a few letters of the language, and a dropdown appears with languages that match. Select a language from the list, and Adapt It Mobile will automatically build the language code for you.
If you have an exotic script or revision that doesn’t fit the normal language code, you can now override the automatically generated language code and specify a custom RFC 5646 code for the translation project’s source and target languages.
And More
- Support for custom special text colors (issue #372).
- Fixed punctuation import consistency between file types (issue #375).
- Improved phrase selection, including the ability to stop selection at boundaries (issue #373).
- Improved support for larger source phrases (issue #371).
These issues can be found in our issue tracker.
Known Issues
- Adapt It Mobile currently does not have a way of directly editing the Knowledge Base. Entries are added and removed from the Knowledge Base as the user adds, removes, and edits the translations in the text. The capability to edit the Knowledge Base directly will be added to a future release of Adapt It Mobile (issue #274)
- Adapt It Mobile currently only supports a single translation project. Support for multiple translation projects will be implemented in a future release of Adapt It Mobile (issues #100, #358, #359)
Please refer to the Adapt It Mobile Wiki site for instructions on installing. Issues and enhancement requests can be reported through our issues page. Thanks!

1.0 Release Candidate 1
Release Candidate 1
First Release Candidate for Adapt It Mobile 1.0
This first release candidate for 1.0 contains two new features:
- Clipboard text snippet import / export support (#301). If there is text on the mobile device's clipboard / pasteboard, the Import Document screen will have an option to import that text as a new text document. When finished adapting, the user can send the text back to the clipboard using the Export Document screen.
- Scripture portion import support (#246). This allows the user to import several portions of the same book without giving a "duplicate book" error.
The following issues are also fixed in this release:
- Added missing SFM default filter markers (#323)
- Fixed a condition where selecting a pile inside the target area was causing an exception (#324)
- Fixed an issue where the first strip of plain-text in a book was not in a containing block, causing issues for navigating and selecting text (#332)
- Updated the localizations for our supported UI languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, Tok Pisin (#267)
- Added an Android / Google Play Store beta entry (#337)
These issues can be found in our issue tracker.

1.0 beta 12
Beta 12
Public beta 12
This beta release fixes several issues found during testing, focusing on RTL text rendering / editing:
- Add embedded font for code points that are common in RTL languages - Scheherazade (#309). Adapt It Mobile now comes with 4 embedded fonts:
- Fixed several layout issues with RTL text (#320, #259)
- Fixed an issue where the "Wrap at Standard Format Markers" was not working in Android (#318). Also added several markers to the list of markers that cause a newline.
- Fixed an issue where the Android system setting (Display > Font size) was causing rendering display issues in Adapt It Mobile (#314). Now this system setting is ignored; Adapt It Mobile does have its own font size setting under Settings > Source Font / Target Font / Navigation Font
- Fixed an issue where uppercase file extensions (.SFM, .USFM, .XML) were being parsed as text files (#310).
These issues can be found in our issue tracker.

1.0 beta 11
Beta 11
Public beta 11
Bug Fixes
This beta release fixes several issues found during testing:
- Fixed an issue where removing a phrase didn't preserve the associated marker information (#291)
- Fixed an issue where the possible translations on the "choose translation" menu were hard to distinguish, because the items were spaced evenly with no line between the options (#292)
- Fixed an issue where KB entries with trailing space + punctuation were not removed (#293)
- Fixed an issue where extra punctuation was added when clicking back on the target field (#294)
- Fixed an issue where the double-tap phrase selection was off by one word (#297)
- Fixed an issue where selecting from the drop-down "choose translation" menu was causing the cursor to skip one or more lines. (#299)
- Added two editor options that were in Adapt It desktop, but not in Adapt It Mobile: wrapping at standard format markers (#302) and automatic copying of text from source to target when there is nothing in the KB (#300)
New Features
Also included in this release are the following enhancements:
- The version / build info is displayed in the Settings / General Settings page (along with the two editor options listed above and the UI locale setting that was displayed on the main menu page) (issue #298)
- Portuguese localization (#304)
- A new way to select phrases in the adaptation editor: long press selection mode (issue #212). This feature works as follows:
- The user presses / holds the starting pile in the selection. After 1 second, the color on the selection changes and the user gets an audible "ping" telling them that it's in long-press selection mode. The user can then lift their finger from the starting pile location.
- The user clicks on the ending pile in the selection. There's no time limit, as it's still in the long press selection mode. All the words between the two piles become part of the selection.
Some other nuances of this feature:
- If the user clicks outside the strip, all the words up to the beginning / ending of the strip (depending on where the user clicked) become part of the selection.
- If the user clicks an empty area, the long-press selection goes away.
- If the user presses / holds the same pile, the long-press selection mode toggles off, and the starting pile is the only one selected.
Here's an animated .gif of this selection process in action:
With this change, there are now three ways to select a phrase in Adapt It Mobile:
- Click/drag the words that will form the phrase.
- Double-tap a pile to select the whole strip.
- The "long press selection" method outlined above.
