Buoy User Roles

  • Buoy users: Any user, including administrators, of Buoy. This term is used to reference any and all Buoy users, when there is no need to specify roles, such as in general descriptions of Buoy. Team user roles

  • Team owner: A Buoy user who has created a team.
  • Team member: A Buoy user who has received and accepted a team invitation from a "team owner."
  • Invited user: An individual who has been sent a request to join a Buoy team, but has yet to accept the invitation.

Alert instance user roles

  • Alerter: In the context of an alert, an "alerter" is the Buoy user who initiated the alert being sent.
  • Responder: In the context of an alert, a "responder" is a Buoy user who both received the alert and clicked the "Respond" button after having received said alert.
  • Notified user: In the context of an alert, a "notified user" is a Buoy user who is sent a notification of some kind (email, txt, Web push, etc.) of an alert but has not yet acted upon the notification they received.
