This partly fixes initial bugs in the tests (as they have never been executed in CI builds) and partly fixes regressions from eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.ua#90.

I will introduce the addition of this test project into automated builds as a follow-up PR (if there was no specific reason for not doing so yet).
