Working on Wynton HPC
Are you reaching the limits of your laptop? Are you new to working on clusters and high performance computing (HPC)? New to Wynton? This workshop will start with basic definitions for computing in a cluster environment, including types of nodes, queues and containers. This is an advanced workshop in the Computer Skills series. Prior experience with command line is required. See introductory workshop:
- Follow the instructions at this link to create a Wynton account if you do not have one: https://wynton.ucsf.edu/hpc/about/join.html
Note: You must put your PI or supervisor as the approver. If you are unsure of who to list as your approver please contact Wynton support directly.
- To ensure that you can connect to Wynton during the workshop:
- Connect to the UCSF or Gladstone VPNs. For additional information, please contact your IT department.
- Enable 2 factor authentication on Wynton if you are using the Gladstone VPN. If you have the UCSF VPN set up then 2FA is already enabled.
