v0.11.1121.0: Ubuntu (WSL) not working #5515

Environment

Windows build number:  Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.18363.0
Windows Terminal version (if applicable): 0.11.1121.0

Steps to reproduce

Set WSL (Ubuntu) as default shell. Launch Windows Terminal. Alternatively, simply launch a new WSL tab using the + sign

Expected behavior

Launching Windows Terminal should give a functional WSL (Ubuntu) shell (current personal default). This was working previously, not working anymore.

Actual behavior

Launching a WSL Ubuntu shell through Terminal no longer works. Various types of issues happen:

  • The terminal hangs before displaying the shell (bash), OR
  • Terminal opens at the shell but disables typing across all open tabs including Powershell, cmd, etc.
  • My default tab is WSL, it no longer launches WSL, while my settings still shows WSL as default.

Hi! We've identified this issue as a duplicate of another one that already exists on this Issue Tracker. This specific instance is being closed in favor of tracking the concern over on the referenced thread. Thanks for your report!

Add a warning about using the globals property (#5597)

This property was deprecated in 0.11. We probably should have also added a warning
message to help the community figure out that this property is gone and won't work
anymore.

This PR adds that warning.
