Patch Release - Journal Parsing Fix
This version fixes a parsing issue with the journal, which I feel like I already fixed once. Regardless, the net result was that all systems found in the journal would have the Y coordinate set to zero, which is typically entirely incorrect.
Also fixed Engineers presets to better explain what services they provided, and added missing Colonia engineers.
1.7.0: Exploration Update
Huge update for the valuable exploration routing tool.
- Much more accurate system value estimates, using the mass of the planets in the calculations (note that it still only uses the important planets so actual values is most likely higher for full scans).
- Major update to data, sourced from EDSM.
- The current dataset is 2165358 bodies in 1284964 systems - if you were to scan all these the value is estimated at 925 billion credits.
- Even if these bodies were all within one jump of another, and assuming you could make a perfect path to visit them all it would multiple years to visit all these systems. This is assuming 1 minute per system and no breaks!
With the upcoming release, this will help you get some really great routes as distance to planets no longer matter for system scans.
1.6.0: Paste routing and custom router system removal
Pretty small release that improves the custom router in a few ways:
- Allow removal of individual manually entered systems in two ways:
- Select a row and press
Delete
orBackspace
- Right click and entry and click the remove box that pops up.
- Select a row and press
- Allow pasting data (Ctrl-v/Cmd-v or using menu selection) into the custom router. This is primarily intended for routes made with the Neutron Star router (https://www.spansh.co.uk/plotter). You make a route, select all systems, and paste it right in. It'll discard the noise between the systems. Primary reason for this isn't really to get a path calculated (Spansh already does this), but to get the next neutron star system automatically copied to the paste board, dramatically streamlining the travels.
1.5.0: Finally not beta
Significant number of updates since the last non-beta release:
New Features:
- Next destination automatically copied to clipboard, as you progress in a route.
- Text to speech and/or toaster notification of the next step in the route.
- Optimization to initial loading time, as well as other aspects such as scanning journal files for the Exploration routing tool.
- Added a bearing calculator - when used from custom router, it will automatically fill in he destination coordinates and planet radius. (Note: does not yet look for your current lat/lon from the new status file).
Bug fixes:
- Much improved HIDPI support (should work pretty well in any resolution now).
- Fixed parsing systems from journal (this but prevented routing from systems you've explored, or is currently in when exploring).
- Generally a significant number of bugfixes and refactoring not visible to the end user.
Updated beta build, lots of internal changes
Initial auto-copy of route steps with configurable notification options.
Release 1.4: Themes, Export/Import and Settings
This release adds a new dark theme, configurable location for journal files, and the ability to export routes as CSV or tab/newline separated files. In addition the custom router can import systems from a newline separated file as well (it can directly import any of the tab/newline exported files from the app).
In addition to these new features, your the settlement and exploration routers remembers settings from when you last used the application.
Release 1.3: Valuable Body Exploration Routing and Custom / Mission router
This version adds two new tools:
-
Valuable body exploration router, which let's you make high value exploration routes.
-
Mission router with custom routing - create mission destination routes (for supported types, such as deliveries and courier missions) and/or route for custom destinations. Can be used to optimize mission completion, find an optimal route to visit a number of engineers or anything else you want.
1.1.2 - Entry Distance and Image Zoom
In this release I add additional filtering based on distance from the entry point. The distance data is rather incomplete, which means that a majority of all planets have unknown distances.
In addition to the distance filtering, you can now zoom the images (or use fixed sizing like in the previous release). This will in many cases allow you to see much better details in the maps.
EDPathFinder 1.1.1 - Journals
The main feature in this release is filtering of settlements based on journal scanning events (Issue #3, Issue #4). If enabled, settlements scanned within the last two weeks by the selected commander will be filtered out. In addition the following fixes and improvements were made:
- Support font/window scaling on Windows (Issue #2)
- Make Threat Level filtering checkboxes to allow any combination of scanning.
- Fix a bug where the settlement name was copied instead of the system name, when clicking on a system in the route list.
- Limits route calculation time to 1 second. I found in testing that going from a few hundred ms to 17 seconds (for 100 systems) resulted in a route that was less than 10 ly shorter. It's not worth the extra time to get a "perfect" route when it's such a small difference.
- Updates the current system (and commander name) based on journal parsing. This means it'll automatically start where you are right now when you make a new route.
Improved Image Viewer
- Images are scaled when the window is resized.
- Select between all available images for a settlement.
- Added map legend as an available image.
- Disk cache to prevent having to download images repeatable.
EDPathFinder 1.0 - Initial Release
This marks the first release of EDPathFinder.
