Issue to keep track of lightmap progress

Related to Improving simulation rendering realism

Engine level issues:

Ignition textures bugfix PR gazebosim/gz-sim#874 Merged!

Export lights for Collada world exporterWaiting for merge Merged!

gazebosim/gz-sim#1010
<experimental:params> <cast_shadows> tag not working! (Needs checking)

Issues with shadows not casting on lightmapped environments (see screenshots below)

Traffic editor progress/issues

  • Support making .world files for dae export, and a combined one that makes use of these
  • Support traffic editor with fields to specify what the models/floors/walls are for baking, seperated by ;
  • (reconsider?) Upload baked models to fuel and use them as downloads
  • Guide to lightmapping with blender and traffic editor (also upload lightmap scripts to ignition)
  • Performance and quality (level-specific)

Screenshot showcasing 2 lightmapped static models, L1_R1 for the corner room and L1 for the rest of the building. Note that the door is a seperate object but not casting a shadow. So are the robots.
